WORKSHOP
These 5 days will help you find new ways to express your creativity and push technological and musical boundaries. We’ll look for sounds that don’t just “work” but carry a mood and create a real feeling. The goal is to make music that explores, has a clear intention, and is made with dedication and authenticity.
You don’t need any specific background, but you do need an open mindset and the willingness to step outside your usual routines. I don’t believe technology makes you creative. Restrictions do, and so does letting go of rules. Tools can help bring ideas together and shape a certain sound, but they can’t replace your decisions.
We’ll start with listening sessions and then move straight into the making. We’ll build grooves, chop and process material, experiment with effects chains, arrange, record, and mix. By the end of the week, everyone should leave with at least one finished track - probably a lot more. Please bring a laptop and headphones, and optionally any recording setup, analog or digital.
